Watched an Ateneo-FEU game today! Win or lose, it’s the school we choose. 👍 (Taken with instagram)

You know how you should always go back to that thing that makes you happy? Well, food and basketball make me happy so today was spent with my lovable friend, Klar (who’s really like a sister to me), being total foodies and basketball junkies. Our day kinda started early since she had training at 7am. Funny how my day started, actually. So we were at the dorm and Klar had to wake me up (‘cause I told her I wanted to walk with her to the gym because I have been living such a sedentary life lately, haha kidding). I was dreaming when I heard her voice call out my name so I kinda knew I had to wake up but when she poked me, I literally jerked “back to life.” Yep, weird things happen when I’m sleeping.
While walking to the gym, we passed through one of the “mini forests” in school and then her teammate-slash-our-friend, Sam, was spotted us so we rode with her instead. I walked back to the dorm afterwards… Slept all morning. Had lunch with Klar, Cess and Vanessa… Watched a couple of basketball games… ATE ATE ATE ATE ATE ATE (repeat one hundred times).
Sooooo, yep. Today was a good day.. And you could probably tell that I’m already really lazy right now with the way I’m ending this post abruptly. HAHAHA. TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY. :)
Also, Call Me Maybe is still stuck in my head… GAAAAH.
Happy New Year, everyone!! :)
Here’s a little something about the upcoming Fastbreak Charity Basketball Game, greetings and so on! It’s my first time to make a vlog… I hope you enjoy watching it! :)
Posted it on my Tumblr for future reference, since I almost always forget when the games are.
NBA. Forever. I just found this video on youtube and it’s a tie-up between NBA and TNT (Turner Network Television). For many years, I have been a huge fan of basketball - both NBA and PBA - and I’ve had the chance (and experience) to play for my high school’s varsity team… So, I guess you could say my interest in the sport has always been there. When I found this on the internet, I can’t help but feel this kind of nostalgia because some of the players shown in the video have long been retired basketball players.
I like how they showed how old school basketball was compared to the NBA we know of today - uniforms, teams and rosters may change annually but one thing remains: the love for the game. Basically, after watching this I just want to play basketball whenever I’m free because to me it’s more than just a sport - it’s a huge part of me.
Anyway, hehe sorry I don’t mean to sound too sentimental… I hope you’d like this video! :)
Prepare for Slaughter..? Yes, you can say that again! According to an InterAKTV article about our favorite UAAP 7-footer, Greg will still be playing for the Ateneo Blue Eagles next year! Personally, I’m relieved that he’s going to play for us next year since he has proven himself as an offensive asset (as long as he’s having a good day). One more year wouldn’t hurt, right? I’m kind of excited for him once he’s done with UAAP though. Imagine, PBA!
So, are we ready for a 5-peat? Well, I think that could be possible considering last season’s team is still somewhat intact! See you next season at Smart Araneta Coliseum! For now, let’s show our support for the Blue Eagles tomorrow (December 9, 2011, 4pm) against the San Beda Red Lions who’s currently top seed. The Blue Eagles lost to San Sebastian College-Recoletos by 1 point last Tuesday after a very stressful and intense game; had we won this Friday game wouldn’t be do or die. So, show your support for the Blue Eagles and cheer your heart out for them! Updates would be really awesome (hehe) since I will be in Quezon Province for immersion by then.. So tweets or text updates would be great, friends! Thanks so much!

I’m currently in the library finishing my school work, so I only got updates from friends who watched the game on TV. The boys won against University of Cebu, 100-53. Great finish for the Blue Eagles!  Greg Slaughter is dubbed Player of the Game with 18 points, 11 rebounds at 7/8 FG shooting. Well done, big guy! Next game (Game 15) is tomorrow at 2pm against the Luzon Metro Manila Bracket Winner. :)

When Rich Alvarez and Kyla (the singer) got married the other day, I got a little sentimental. The Ateneo Blue Eagles champion team of 2002 will forever be a favorite of mine for several reasons: 1) it was around that time I started following UAAP basketball and started rooting for Ateneo, 2) thus becoming my dream school as early as 6th grade and 3) I remember having a legit crush on a couple of their players.
I still remember that championship and the bonfire after it. I went to Ateneo with a good friend of mine, and believe it or not I lined up to have a shirt signed by all of them. I was a little kid and I couldn’t contain the little fan girl in me, so Redj and her older brother waited for me until the signing was over and done with. I think that was the first and last time I ever asked an athlete for an autograph - and I still have the shirt! I honestly can’t believe it’s been almost a decade… And look how all grown up they are (well, yeah they were pretty grown up that time already but I’m sure you get what I’m saying)! They’re all tying the knot one by one and most of them are playing for a PBA team! As for me, I got into my dream school and I couldn’t be any happier.
By the way, the Rich & Kyla’s nuptials video can be found here. I’m so happy for them, they looked genuinely kilig and happy!
With that said, I’d just like to ask you guys.. Who was your first Ateneo Blue Eagle favorite? And when did you start following the Ateneo games? :)
Sinag Pilipinas! The Sinag Pilipinas boys have dominated the 2011 SEA Games and breezed through their final game against Thailand earlier tonight, ending the golden ballgame 85-57. Here is their picture while holding the Philippine flag during a ceremony in the 26th SEA Games (see below). There is not much to say about how they performed as a team other than perhaps Coach Norman Black did a very good job of reminding his players of their roles. And of course as most of us expected, everyone did their very best from the beginning - they wouldn’t have gotten this far if they didn’t, anyway. So again, congratulations to Sinag Pilipinas and to everyone who supports the team and/or the individual players and the coaching staff! Cheers! :)
