Posted it on my Tumblr for future reference, since I almost always forget when the games are.

NBA. Forever. I just found this video on youtube and it’s a tie-up between NBA and TNT (Turner Network Television). For many years, I have been a huge fan of basketball - both NBA and PBA - and I’ve had the chance (and experience) to play for my high school’s varsity team… So, I guess you could say my interest in the sport has always been there. When I found this on the internet, I can’t help but feel this kind of nostalgia because some of the players shown in the video have long been retired basketball players.

I like how they showed how old school basketball was compared to the NBA we know of today - uniforms, teams and rosters may change annually but one thing remains: the love for the game. Basically, after watching this I just want to play basketball whenever I’m free because to me it’s more than just a sport - it’s a huge part of me.

Anyway, hehe sorry I don’t mean to sound too sentimental… I hope you’d like this video! :)

NBA Christmas Special Live Streaming ›

I guess I can share this one out to everyone because it’s nothing downloadable. It’s a live streaming of the OKC vs ORL game (yay, go Thunder!) which is only shown at NBA Premium right now. At 11:30am today (GMT + 08:00), the game’s LAC vs GSW (let’s go Clippers!). Again, you can just click the link and look for the specific category/game you want to watch as long as it’s ongoing - so that’s OKC vs ORL for now. Later, you can check again the site for the 11:30am game.

I hope you guys find this useful! Just don’t click on the ads because I’m not sure it’s safe for non-Mac users..? But other than that, as long as you have good internet connection, there’ll be no time difference/lag/buffering. ENJOY! :D

Again, it’s nothing downloadable that’s why I shared this here on Tumblr. I just found the link and have tested it before sharing out here, so there shouldn’t be any problem. Have fun!

If you’re an NBA fan, it’s not a huge surprise that you’re suffering from NBA basketball withdrawal symptoms as of late. With the NBA looking like a complete goner for 2011-2012 - yes, that means missing the intense games, the rivalries and our own favorite players - Nike Basketball has come up with a brilliant idea: “Basketball Never Stops”. The whole idea of it, perhaps, is to gather every single basketball enthusiast from all over the world to share how they continue to keep the glorious sport (and the love for it) alive. Anyone can join simply by liking the Nike Basketball fan page on Facebook, and with that simple step, you can easily submit your basketball-related post and view other people’s stuff as well!

If you’d look closely at the screenshot, Nike Basketball says you just might “earn a surprise from the best players on the court”. What’re you waiting for? The NBA Lockout may have gone from bad to worse, but always remember… Basketball Never Stops.

To basketball fans all over the world, the day we have been dreading has finally come. The “nuclear winter” is coming real soon. Judging from the antitrust lawsuit the National Basketball Players Association are planning to file against NBA itself, it sure looks like we’ll just have to pray that some miraculous agreement would transpire between our favorite athletes and the NBA.

David Stern, NBA commissioner since 1984, admitted that the 2011-2012 NBA season doesn’t look like it’s going to push through. As mentioned in Michael Lee’s article for the Washington Post, David Stern said “There will ultimately be a new collective bargaining agreement, but the 2011-12 season is now in jeopardy.”

This is the 4th lockout since the NBA existed. If the whole issue of the NBA Lockout is a little bit unclear to you, it basically is an issue about revenue sharing among the NBA owners and the National Basketball Players Association. Up until the 30th of June 2011, the players were to receive 57% of the Basketball Related Income, however some of the owners of the NBA had been complaining for quite some time about the fact that they are suffering losses with that kind of agreement - only the large-market teams and the extraordinary teams are benefiting from the share. Since then, the two parties have been trying to meet “halfway” - the NBA owners asking for a larger share by reducing the athletes’ salary cap from 57% down to 54.3%.

It really is heartbreaking that the NBA 2011-2012 Season looks like it’s going to the dumpster this time around, but of course everyone’s still hoping for the best. Some say that there could still be a sudden change of heart coming from both parties and that they would eventually reconcile with each other, but for now whether or not this season will push through, we really won’t be seeing some faces in the NBA playing for their teams. In fact, some of the players have already signed contracts to play in other countries!

So for now, we all just have to wait and see (or play NBA 2k12, to pass time) but as a basketball and an NBA fan I am personally praying for a miracle here.
